Forest Animals

Join us on an exciting forest adventure as we discover amazing creatures, read engaging stories about them, and enjoy fun crafts and activities along the way!




Maestro Classics: Music and Stories Come Alive!
(Ages 6-10)
10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.             Fee: $25
Instructor: Danielle Mitchell


Step into the magical world where music tells stories! In this class, students will explore Maestro Classics recordings that combine beloved tales with beautiful orchestral music performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Each class will feature one story, such as Peter and the Wolf, Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel, and Juanita the Spanish Lobster, and include listening, discussion, movement, and hands-on activities. Students will learn how music helps tell a story, recognize instruments and themes, and may even create their own short musical story by the end! Activities may include rhythm games, story mapping, and mini art projects inspired by each tale. 



Optical Illusion Art
​(Ages 11-18)
10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.       Fee: $30
Instructor: Stephanie Gabinet-Bethoulle


Discover how simple lines can create extraordinary illusions. In this optical illusion art class, students will create stunning visual effects that seem to twist and move right off the page.

Prerequisite: Must be able to comfortably read and use a ruler to measure and draw straight lines.



Yearbook

(Ages 11-18)
10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.             Fee: $20
Instructor: Mandy Wingate


This is a collaborative class where students will work together to gather and take photos, conduct interviews, write up text for the book, and consider layout and content. We will document our history as a group, and highlight individual students as well as group activities, both classes and field trips. Eventually, we can market and promote the book, gather orders, and have a yearbook reveal and signing party by the summer. 



HOUR 2


Outdoor Basics
(Ages 3-7)
11:05 a.m. - 12:05 p.m.          Fee: $20

We will explore nature through active play while learning basic outdoor awareness, safety, and respect for the environment. 



Get Creative with Color Theory
(Ages 6-12)
11:05 a.m. - 12:05 p.m.             Fee: $20
Instructor: Chrissy Florentine

In this class, we will create colorful artwork as we explore the color wheel, color relationships, and the effects of various color schemes.




Needle Felting
(Ages 10-18)
11:05 a.m. - 12:05 p.m.           Fee: $25
Instructor: Emily Frisch


Learn the fun, relaxing art of needle felting! In this class, we will cover the basics of needle felting and make a variety of small projects perfect for beginners. All materials included. 


Warning: Needle felting involves the use of sharp, breakable needles. Although we will start each class with a quick safety lesson, accidental finger stabs may happen. Additionally, needle felting requires close contact with wool fibers and is not a suitable pastime for anyone allergic to wool.




Card Games

(Ages 11-18)

If the power is out and your iPad is dead, can a deck of cards cure the boredom? Absolutely! In this class, we’ll learn several ways 52 cards can save the day. Learn fun card games, clever tricks, and activities to play solo, with a friend, or a group! No need to bring a deck; everyone will receive their own in the first week. 




Heroes of Progress
(Ages 11-18)

11:05 a.m. - 12:05 p.m.           Fee: $20

Let's take a deep dive into overlooked and often unknown thinkers from within the last 150 years whose ideas profoundly reshaped technology, medicine, and human experience. In each class session, we will discuss the contributions of an individual or a pair of collaborators and how their innovations affect our modern lives.




HOUR 3


Storytime Adventures with Eric Carle 

(Ages: 3-7)
12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.           Fee: $20
Instructor: Heather Esce


Join us for a colorful adventure inspired by Eric Carle’s beloved books! Each week, we’ll bring stories like The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Brown Bear, Brown Bear to life through movement, music, art, and imagination.




Scientists!
(Ages 6-11)
12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.          Fee: $20
Instructor: Marcela Bell


Students will explore key concepts in astronomy, earth science, biology, and physics through hands-on activities designed to spark curiosity and understanding. Using LEGO® bricks, learners will investigate the world around them while developing problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills. This class offers an engaging introduction to multiple branches of science.



Spring Production
(Ages 9-18)
12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.            Fee: $25
Instructor: Joanne Durrett


Join us as we rehearse and perform a play this spring. Everyone gets a part, and together we'll learn lines, practice scenes, design props, and put on a real show for family and friends at the spring party. No experience needed; just come ready to have fun and be part of a team!


Homework: Actors will be expected to memorize their lines.




Action Hour for Teens
(Ages 12-18)
12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.           Fee: $ 20
Instructor: Robin Shoemaker

This class gives teens a place to connect, move, and release energy in positive ways. Each session begins with a group warm-up, followed by small-group rotations through a variety of activity and game stations. While the class will primarily be held indoors, we may take advantage of nice weather and move some activities outdoors.
