Science is super cool! Join us for a fun and educational treat!
We will start by being introduced to science-based concepts through the use of liquid nitrogen, or N7, as found on the periodic table of elements. The colorless, odorless liquid that appears to bubble and boil as vapor mist swirls and dances at room temperature. We will see the scientific properties of liquid nitrogen by expanding and compressing air from a balloon and some other simple demonstrations. We can even flash freeze a real rose to show the effects of cryogenics and invite a student to shatter it. Participating students receive additional educational activities and their own certificate of participation that they call the “-321 degree”. A gift coupon is included from our local store, exclusively created just for our STEM education program. It’s their way of saying thank you and giving back by inspiring young minds, and expanding education in a unique, fun and exciting way!
There will be two sessions based on grade level.
Grades Pre-K through 4th will meet from 11:00-12:00.
Grades 5th through 9th will meet from 10:00-11:00.
