Details:

This is a special Living History Program. During the “Day in a One-Room School,” children will pretend to be the sons and daughters of farmers, tanners, bargemen, merchants, millers, and doctors. A detailed packet will be sent out at least 2 weeks prior to the trip. Each student will receive the identity of one of the Seneca students whose brief biography appears on the last three pages of this packet. We recommend that they read and prepare before they arrive. If the students are able to memorize their roles, it is a good example of recitation lessons the students in 1880 were assigned for homework. We also encourage students to come in costume, if they would like to. Examples of what children wore in 1880 can be found later in the packet. This will help your students prepare for their "trip back in time" to the historic Seneca Schoolhouse.  www.historicmedley.org
