Have you ever wondered “Who invented this?” Or, “How is this made?” We will take a look at the people behind some of the world’s greatest inventions. We use technology every day, but how did these inventions come to be? Let’s take a look at a different inventor every week, and discuss the items they created. We will talk about their thought processes, and their success and failures to see how they ended up with their invention(s). Students will then get to create their very own working prototypes, based off of the inventor’s grand ideas. This is a hands on class that will involve working with machines, motors, electricity, and more! .

Express Yourself: Creative Writing

Open your imagination and get your ideas flowing! During this class we will explore the process and techniques of creative writing and experiment with various styles. Students will be encouraged to think, write and have fun. This class will focus on the writing process and creativity but not include formal instruction or critique of finished products.
Recorder Revelry: A Beginner's Music Class - CLASS FULL, WAIT LIST AVAILABLE

Learning to play the recorder is a fun easy way to introduce kids to basic music theory, terminology, and appreciation! Children will learn to identify notes and rhythms on a scale, while preforming basic songs on the recorder. Every child will be provided his/her own recorder.

In this introductory American Sign Language class, children will learn how to communicate with their hands (and fingers!). ASL is a unique language with its own grammar, vocabulary, and culture. Through games, videos, songs, and other fun activities, children will learn some basic signs and expressions. Topics will include letters, emotions, and family signs! Children are encouraged to practice their signing skills at home in between classes.
Illustrator Art

Every wonder how Dr. Seuss made those Truffula Trees look so fluffy? Or how Eric Carle made his Blue Horse look so blue? What did E.H. Shepard do to make Tigger look so bouncy? In this class, we will explore the art of classic picture books. After reading a story each week, we will study the illustrator and explore the book's art. We will spend time discovering the life, education, and career of each artist. Then, the children will create an art project in the style of each picture book's famous illustrator. And while we hope to pay homage to the illustrator by demonstrating some of their techniques, each child will be given room to use his or her own artistic voice within each art piece.

Join T.H.E. C.S.I. Team! Our forensic detectives will conduct hands-on labs to analyze fingerprints & handwriting, identify mysterious powders, make impressions, learn about blood splatter and more!
We will conduct research, make observations, and use critical thinking skills as we examine evidence left at each crime scene working together to close our cases.The fictitious scenarios used in our labs may contain mild violence. If you have any questions, please ask
