Birds of prey are the main focus at the Carrie Murray Nature Center. The Center is home to owls, hawks, a vulture, a raven, and even the national bird—a bald eagle! This program allows students to get up close and personal with our raptors and even dissect owl pellets. They will leave with a better appreciation of how these majestic birds positively affect the environment.

The guided tour lasts about an hour, but can sometimes be a little longer depending on group size and curiosity. Tours begin with an introduction of how the sanctuary was founded. Your guide will then lead you around the sanctuary, stopping at several packs. They will also provide wolf facts about their biology and conservation. If you have questions along the way, don't hesitate to ask!
The wolves are outside, so you will be outside too. The tour is held rain, snow, or shine, so dress accordingly. PLEASE wear good walking shoes. This is not a power walk, but more of a leisurely walk from pack to pack. The trails are natural grass, stones and dirt (sometimes mud). For the most part your tour takes place on terrain that is flat but not even (kinda like the grassy area in a public park). The last part of your tour is up a hill.
-Children are not allowed to run, wander or behave loudly while visiting.
-To maintain a peaceful and serene environment for our animals and other guests, we require children to be monitored at ALL TIMES.
-It is imperative that parents keep their children close by and on the trails. Any parent or child not respecting our policies will be asked to leave immediately.
-Please take into consideration that this educational tour may not be appropriate for children under age 5.
Please arrive 15-30 minutes before your scheduled tour. The front gate will open approximately 30 minutes before tour time and will close again when the tour begins at which time no one else will be admitted.
