HOUR 1
Wacky Tales and Giggles: A Silly Story Time Adventure
(Ages 3-8)
10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Fee: $20

Get ready for a story time filled with laughter, learning, and lots of fun as we dive into some all-time favorite books! From the typing cows of Click, Clack, Moo to the puzzling meals of There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly, there’s a story for everyone to enjoy. We’ll climb the alphabet with Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, munch through The Very Hungry Caterpillar, and discover cause-and-effect hilarity in If You Give a Mouse a Cookie. Each session includes interactive reading, some songs, and activities or crafts inspired by these timeless tales. Perfect for little bookworms ready for a big adventure!
Playful Pop Art
(Ages 8-13)
10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Fee: $25
Instructor: Chrissy Florentine
Discover Pop Art and create bold and bright works of art. This class will challenge students to think outside of the crayon box and get creative with color.
Photography Club
(Ages 12-18)
10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Fee: $25
Instructor: Robin Shoemaker
Learn the basic concepts of photography and practice them with your digital camera, phone, or tablet. This class will allow time for creative photography in and out of the classroom. Optional homework may include "scavenger challenge" pictures to be shared in class.
All students must bring a digital device to class to use for pictures.
Stop Motion Animation
(Ages 12-18)
10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Fee: $25
Instructor: Steph Babcock
Create short films using small figures, plasticine characters you create, or 3D characters from any media you can imagine and come up with. (You can even make movies with 2D characters from construction paper).
We will learn how to create a story board, a set, film still shots, add sound, and scenery. Students will work on their own projects for at least the first 4 classes.
Myths and Legends
(Ages 12-18)

In this art class, we will explore various myths and legends from around the world. Create an enchanted forest, Irish Will-o’-the-Wisps, a dragon’s egg, and more!
HOUR 2
Journey Through the Solar System
(Ages 3-8)

In this class, we will learn about the planets through crafts and various fun activities.
Endangered and Extinct Animals
(Ages 9-14)
11:05 a.m. - 12:05 p.m. Fee: $25
Instructor: Miriam Snare
Each session will focus on interesting species of animals within one phylum or class that have gone extinct or that are currently endangered and the reasons why. Class activities will include some conservation-related projects.
Yearbook
(Ages 12-18)
11:05 a.m. - 12:05 p.m. Fee: $20
Instructor: Mandy Wingate
This is a collaborative class where students will work together to gather and take photos, conduct interviews, write up text for the book, and consider layout and content. We will document our history as a group, and highlight individual students as well as group activities, both classes and field trips. Eventually we can market and promote the book, gather orders, and have a yearbook reveal and signing party by the summer.
Architecture and Design
(Ages 11-18)
11:05 a.m. - 12:05 p.m. Fee: $25
Instructor: Emily Frisch
Explore engineering, building design, landscape design, game design, skyscrapers, and more in this hands-on class. Students will design and build model structures, such as bridges, skyscrapers, treehouses and parks.
HOUR 3
Jr. Scientists: All About Animals
(Ages: 4-8)
12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. Fee: $20
Instructor: Marcela Bell
In this program, we invite your little zoologist to analyze the differences between vertebrates and invertebrates, construct their way through the butterfly and frog life cycles, build reptiles, and examine the differences and similarities between insects and arachnids using Kid K'NEX® pieces.
Getting Creative and Motivated
(Ages 9-15)
12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. Fee: $25
Instructor: Becky McCracken

This class itself is inspired by the best parts of Coffee Talk: group discussions and activities. We’ll share stories that inspire us, practices that motivate us well, and more than likely, a sweet treat will be served each week.
Some Penguins are Old TV Shows
(Ages 12-18)
12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. Fee: $ 25
Instructor: Carrie McCarty-Gibson
Using games and group activities, we will learn to recognize propaganda and logical fallacies that often turn discussions into arguing, shouting, or rage. We will learn techniques to disagree effectively without being disagreeable.
Playing with a Play: Shakespeare
(Ages 12-18)
12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. Fee: $25
Instructor: Joanne Durrett
CLASS FULL: WAITLIST AVAILABLE
O'er the six-week period, I will introduce Shakespeare to your kids in a way that will ensure they will love him for the rest of their lives! We will play with a play, and in the sixth week (or shortly thereafter) we will perform it for your enjoyment! If you're looking for rigorous exploration of iambic pentameter and Shakespearean rhetoric, thou wilt not enjoy this class. Fun is the name of the game here.
Homework: Kids will need to practice lines.
We will probably need to have at least one rehearsal outside of class time.
